Netflix users have been encouraged to tune into a new ‘bittersweet’ documentary that tells ‘one of the saddest stories ever’ – and it seems fans are in agreement

Netflix subscribers are urged to set aside time for a new “bittersweet” documentary that uncovers “one of the saddest stories ever.”

The streamer has several new titles as the new year roles in. Meghan Markle just released the trailer for her new lifestyle series With Love, Meghan. It features several special guests like Daniel Martin and Delfina Blaquier, Mindy Kaling, and Abigail Spencer.

The heartfelt film, Avicii: I’m Tim, made its debut on New Year’s Eve and quickly climbed to the top of Netflix’s most-watched list, capturing the hearts of the celebrated DJ’s followers. Running for 95 minutes, the documentary explores the journey of Avicii, born Tim Bergling, from his rapid ascension to fame to his tragic end in 2018.

Speaking from beyond the grave, Avicii himself narrates the film, sharing insights into his world beyond the limelight. The documentary is rich with previously unseen material from the Swedish icon’s life and candid interviews with associates, including Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin.The Stockholm native took the EDM world by storm in the 2010s with smash hits such as Wake Me Up and Levels, although he grappled with personal demons and addiction privately, as chronicled by the Daily Record, reports the Mirror.

Fans flocked to social media to pay homage to Avicii after watching the poignant film, encouraging others to immerse themselves in the documentary.

One viewer exclaimed on X, formerly known as Twitter, “AVICII’S LAST SHOW AND HIS DOCUMENTARY ARE ON NETFLIX RUUUUUUN.”

A second viewer recommended: “I have just finished watching ‘I’m Tim’ the new Avicii documentary on Netflix. It was very nicely put together and helps show the true genius and character of Tim Bergling. I recommend checking it out.”
