Pot lids are an indispensable part of kitchen utensils. They are also used frequently. During cooking, grease, fish sauce, and food can stick to the pot lid and create dirt. If not cleaned regularly, the pot lid will become an ideal place for bacteria to grow.
Many people feel quite hesitant to clean the pot lid because scrubbing takes a lot of time and effort.
Below will be a way to help you clean the pot lid faster and without wasting time.
1. Clean the pot lid with hot water and dishwashing liquid
First, you need to apply dishwashing liquid to the entire surface of the pot lid, apply evenly on both the top and bottom of the lid. Then, place a pot of water on the stove and turn on the stove. Cover the pot with the dishwashing liquid on top and wait for the water to boil, the soap bubbles rise to the entire surface of the lid. Keep it like that for about 1-2 minutes, then turn the lid upside down and continue cooking. Hot steam combined with dishwashing liquid will penetrate into the gaps, dissolving grease stains.
Finally, you just need to wash the pot lid to remove dirt. Use a dry towel to wipe it clean and leave the pot lid in a dry place.
It only takes a few minutes for the pot lid to be as clean as new without having to spend too much effort scrubbing.
2. Clean the pot lid with paper towels and white vinegar
You need to prepare about 5-10 sheets of paper towels, depending on the size of the pot lid, making sure that the paper covers the entire surface of the pot lid.
Arrange the paper over the surface of the pot lid and pour white vinegar on top. When the paper is soaked in white vinegar, leave it like that for 30 minutes. The vinegar will help soften the stains and grease on the pot lid.
After that, you just need to remove all the paper on the surface of the pot lid and wash the lid with dishwashing liquid and clean water.
3. Clean the pot lid with salt and flour
You need to prepare a basin of warm water. Dip the pot lid in warm water until wet and sprinkle salt on top. Salt has the effect of cleaning, disinfecting, increasing friction to help remove stains very effectively.
After scrubbing the pot lid with salt, you can sprinkle a thin layer of flour on the entire surface of the lid and leave it like that for 15 minutes. The flour will absorb all the grease stains.
Finally, use a dishwashing sponge to scrub the pot lid again and then rinse with clean water.
