If you suddenly wake up, the sympathetic nervous system is strongly activated, causing the heart to beat stronger and faster, causing blood pressure to increase. That makes small blood vessels in the brain more likely to rupture, causing a hemorrhagic stroke.
Doctor Quang recommends that after waking up, everyone should lie down for another 1-2 minutes. Use your hands to massage your face, eyes, head and neck to wake up before getting up.
